Gail Murphy, Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder, TaskTop and Professor Software Practices Lab Department of Computer Science University of British Columbia

Gail Murphy is a leading researcher on software evolution and tools. She brings to Tasktop her years of  experience as a software developer and as the principal investigator of a large research group. In recognition of her research, Gail has been a keynote speaker at several software engineering  conferences and has also received both national awards, such as the NSERC Steacie fellowship, and international awards, such as the AITO Dahl-Nygaard Junior Prize, a University of Washington  College of Engineering Diamond Award and an ACM Distinguished Scientist award. She also holds an appointment as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia where she works on human-oriented  software development tools to make software developers more efficient and effective.

Ashish Kapoor, Researcher, Adaptive Systems and Interaction Group, Microsoft Research, Redmond

Ashish Kapoor is a researcher with the Adaptive Systems and Interaction Group at Microsoft Research, Redmond. His current research focuses on interactive machine learning, with broad interests in Machine Learning and Computer Vision with applications in User Modelling, Affective Computing and Computer-Human interaction scenarios.  He earned his PhD at the MIT Media Lab.

Mills Davis, Founder and Managing Director of Project10X

Mills Davis is the founder and managing director of Project10X, specializing in industry research and strategic programs. Mills consults with technology manufacturers, global 2000 corporations, and government agencies on next-wave semantic technologies and solutions. Mills serves as lead for the Federal CIO council’s Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice (SICoP) research into the business value of semantic technologies. Also, he is a founding member of the AIIM interoperable enterprise content management (iECM) working group, and a founding member of the National Center for Ontology Research (NCOR).
